ReGlasgow

APPLICATION Submitted For Ex-Ambulance Headquarters

16 October, 2021 | Office

PLANS have been drawn up to adapt an empty category A-listed building in central Glasgow for reuse.

Acorn Property Group have applied for permission to change the former Scottish Ambulance Service premises in Maitland Street, Cowcaddens into offices.

The “extremely striking and impressive” building, which has been vacant for some years, is described as being of major architectural significance because of its “bold, heroic, exposed concrete, cantilevered colonnaded frame”.

Managed workspaces are proposed over its three levels. There would be a reception area and cafe on the ground floor. External alterations will be minimal.
