PLANNERS are being asked to approve a development of 65 apartments near Maryhill Locks in north Glasgow.
Maryhill Housing Association has applied for permission to build the properties on a prominent corner site on Maryhill Road at Cowal Road, across from the Forth and Clyde Canal.
The apartments would be a mixture of one and two-bedroom homes. Six are designed for wheelchair users and 17 for elderly people.
Documents submitted by Elder and Cannon Architects, on behalf of the housing association, state: “The proposal is for a development of 65 homes for social rent, shared equity and mid-market rent.
“They are to be provided in a grouping of four apartment blocks of varying scale, grouped around a common landscaped garden, with associated parking and amenity.”
There would be two six-storey blocks, a seven-storey block and one with four floors.
The application is pending assessment by Glasgow City Council planning department.
