APARTMENTS On The Menu For Space Above Restaurants

16 September, 2019 | Residential

PLANNERS are being asked to approve a flats conversion of empty offices above Glasgow City Centre restaurants.

Five apartments are proposed for upper floors at 20 Bath Street. The ground floor contains Yiamas Greek restaurant and Bath Street Burger.

There would be one three-bedroom flat on each of the first and second floors and three two-bedroom flats on the top floor. Some space would be retained for storage.

A statement submitted with the application explains: “The proposals account for a complete refurbishment of the interior to form new mainstream residential flats along with some minor external works.

“The proposals will provide a high quality contemporary and fresh interior suited to the current market which will be attractive to a broad demographic.

“Each flat achieves good-sized, open plan living areas along with double bedrooms.”

The statement continues: “The proposal will also inject much-needed life back into a robust unoccupied building which will help to sustain it for the forthcoming years.”
