APART-Hotel Proposal Involving Listed City Centre Premises

29 January, 2021 | Hotels

AN apart-hotel development involving prominent B-listed premises plus a new-build element is being proposed in Glasgow City Centre.

A proposal of application notice (PAN) has been submitted to Glasgow City Council by HMH One Clyde Ltd for a prominent corner site at 5 to 9 Oswald Street/ 54 to 64 Broomielaw.

It involves conversion of the existing building and construction of a new-build apart-hotel with licensed premises, restaurant and meeting room facilities

No further details are available so far but, under the PAN process, consultation is required to take place.

A proposal of application notice was lodged in relation to demolishing a neighbouring building at 11 Oswald Street last year for “a hotel, serviced apartments or residential development”.

The PAN process is required for major developments before a planning application can be made.
