A POPULAR Glasgow West End takeaway pizza outlet has submitted plans to expand into neighbouring shop premises and create a restaurant.
Pizza Magic in Hyndland Road has applied to planners for permission to open the eatery which would have seating for around 40 people inside and around 60 outside.
A document submitted by Bennett Developments and Consulting stated: “The applicant [Marco Stevenson] has traded from the premises for almost 30 years and has developed a reputation for quality food for which people travel some distance to enjoy.”
The interior would feature a new mezzanine gallery accessed via a central staircase. A new frontage and awnings are proposed. There would be outside seating at the front and side of the building.
The planning statement continues: “This proposal will see the creation of a destination restaurant based on the existing pizza outlet which itself is a local icon and renowned for the quality of fare on offer.
“This new extended restaurant will enhance the dining experience and offer both inside and outside dining.
“It will be a place to wine, dine, meet friends and, in so doing, foster and develop the strong community spirit in the area.”
The application is pending assessment by council officials.
